A Mid-Life Crisis Is Bollocks
React before it’s too late
We’ve all heard the expression of a mid-life crisis. You know how it goes, mainly it’s guys in the stories that are accused of this. You buy a motorbike, which seems to be a favourite one, or you end things with your partner because you’re not happy and set off into the sunset.
These people more often get accused of having a midlife crisis and that’s the explanation for this. Well, I think it’s bollocks if I’m honest. So if a guy for example leaves his wife and job because he is so unhappy with his life and decides to travel and have fun and do all the things he wanted to do, he is having a crisis? How about he’s woken up from this mundane lifestyle and decided to act on it. This is a good thing.
If you follow me on social media and have read some of my posts you will know a little of my past and how I changed what was going on in my life. I simply couldn’t go on much longer. Change is a good thing. It’s far too easy to get comfortable with a secure job and stay with the woman or man you don’t love because it’s easy. Easy and routine can be killers. It makes you unfit, unmotivated and bored. Then the breaking point comes. You have to make a decision. You know there’s more to this life.
If you’re reading this and thinking about doing something huge but feel you will be subjected to millions of questions by people asking why you’re making a change, look at them and just smile. You don’t need to answer them. This is your life so go live it.
When students have finished university and go off travelling to see the world it’s acceptable, but if you’re older and want to go do this then apparently you’re having a crisis. There is no age limit to making a change. Embrace the urges, get planning and make the change. We should all be striving to evolve and better ourselves.
Please don’t think I am telling you to leave everything behind and head off into the sunset. All I’m saying is if you’re not completely happy with how things are moving along then you need to decide before it’s too late and you have regrets. Only you can make the decision and you will never know until you do it. I am speaking from experience.
If buying that motorbike, plane ticket or whatever is going to make you truly smile and be happy then you know what you need to do.
